People lead pressurised and busy lives, and this can unfortunately lead to stresses and strains on our relationships. It is a sad fact of life that sometimes, marriages and relationships break down.
Our job at Martin Kaye Solicitors is to try to make the process of separating from your partner as pain free as possible. We will always offer a free advice consultation in respect of divorce and will always discuss with you any options for mediation or marriage counselling if efforts can be made to save your marriage.
If the relationship cannot be saved, then we can give you advice and information as to the best way forward. There are a number of options available to you in addition to divorce, and we can help you decide which would be the most appropriate route to explore.
If you do decide that divorce is inevitable, then there is only one ground for divorce, which is the ‘irretrievable breakdown of the marriage’.
We can prepare the necessary paperwork to advise you at each stage through the court process.
In addition to divorce, we can advise you on alternative options, such as judicial separation, which is a separation formalised by an application to the court, or alternatively an informal separation, with both of you living separately, but dealing with the financial matters by way of a ‘deed of separation’, until you feel able to make long-term decisions.
At Martin Kaye Solicitors, we recognise that you will need constructive advice and support during this difficult time, and we have the knowledge and expertise to make your life a little easier.
